Unemployment Accident Sickness
HOW COULD YOU COPE IF YOU COULDN'T WORK?
Unemployment , accident and sickness are real threats and can affect any one of us at any time.
It is important to ask yourself:
'How would I cope if lost my income due to unemployment, accident or sickness?'
ARE YOU AT RISK?
Unfortunately, yes - the following statistics speak for themselves:
You are 10 times more likely to be off work through serious illness than to die before the age of 65 (source: M&G Re statistics). It is estimated that only 30% of people with mortgages would qualify for Income Support.
WOULD THE STATE HELP?
Unfortunately, even if you did qualify for State Benefits, the amount would probably only represent a small percentage of your normal income.
YOUR MONTHLY OUTGOINGS
Consider the monthly outgoings you have and need to maintain:
- Mortgage
- Loans/credit cards
- Regular household bills
- Food
- Running a car
- Children's clothing
The above are just examples - would you be able to pay for these if you lost your income?
